Flicks in the Sticks

Flicks in the Sticks is the touring cinema branch of Arts Alive, taking big screen films to rural communities whose access to the cinema is severely limited. Through Flicks, our community has access to great films on their doorstep, at affordable prices and in a friendly and familiar atmosphere.

Flicks in the Sticks is held monthly at Clungunford Village Hall for 10 months of the year (we have a break during July and August).

We select a range of films which we think will appeal to our audience, from recent releases, classics, and some niche films. We also show all our films with subtitles. We are always happy to receive suggestions for films that you would like to see.

Our films are always shown on a Friday evening, and unless otherwise stated, start at 8.00pm. The venue is open from 7pm, including the bar for a pre-showing drink.

We have a raffle each evening which is drawn during the interval (contributions always very welcome). Ice creams and drink top ups also available during the interval.

Entrance fees

  • £5 for adults
  • £3 for U16

With excellent free parking and a comfortable inviting setting, Clungunford Village Hall is the place to come for an excellent evening out.

Live Events at Clungunford with Arts Alive

Arts Alive has two sides, the cinema (Flicks) side and the live (Live Events) side. They are a Rural Touring NPO who subsidise live Theatre, Dance, and Music events in Shropshire and Herefordshire enabling small communities the chance to host professional artists from all over the UK and Canada.

The events are on twice a year at Clungunford, other neighbouring villages host shows at different times, so there’s always something to see.

Our shows normally start at 7.30pm with the bar open at 7pm, you can even order your interval drinks to beat the queues.

Most of our shows use cabaret style seating so you can sit and enjoy a drink during the performance for a more relaxed feel, we are known for being ClunFUNford,
